- THE Problem
1. Over-Crushing the Sleeve
The Problem: The torque needed to crush the sleeve spikes rapidly at the end. If you overshoot the manufacturer’s specified rotational torque (measured in inch-pounds), the bearings will be overloaded, leading to excessive friction, heat, and premature bearing failure
2.Difficulty Reaching the Crush Point
The Problem: Collapsible spacers can be highly resistant to crushing initially. Mechanics often overcompensate by using power impact wrenches, which skip right past the ideal setting.
3. Inconsistent or Bouncing Torque Readings
The Problem: When measuring the rotational torque, the needle on the wrench may bounce erratically, making it hard to get an accurate reading
